The national leadership of the CHEGA party announced today the appointment of businessman and municipal deputy Jorge Neves as president of the Felgueiras Municipal Commission, according to a statement sent to the newsroom. The announcement from the national body, responsible for appointing all municipal leaders in the Porto District, ratifies the indication from the Porto District Committee, in accordance with the party's statutes.
Among the priorities of the new municipal leader are the goals to "consolidate structures in the parishes and develop a firm, responsible, and constructive opposition". Jorge Neves expressed his pride and sense of duty, stating that "Felgueiras is my homeland and it is for it that I want to continue working".
Neves highlighted the importance of building "a strong structure, close to the people, that knows how to listen to the people of Felgueiras, defend their interests, and present concrete solutions for the future of the municipality". This new responsibility is seen as "a commitment of loyalty and work for CHEGA and for the political project led by André Ventura".
The objective is to have "a strong, organized municipal commission in permanent coordination with the district and national structures, following the party's guidelines and bringing our proposals and principles to our parishes and the Municipal Assembly", reinforced Jorge Neves.
The statement also informs about the launch of the official website of CHEGA Felgueiras (www.chegafelgueiras.pt), which "aims to bring the party closer to citizens", allowing them to follow the municipal commission's political activity, interventions in the Municipal Assembly, work in the parishes, proposals, news, and videos.
