The Municipality of Sousel was present in Arronches last Wednesday, October 28th, for the handover ceremony of new tractors. The initiative is part of a partnership between the ICNF – Institute for Nature Conservation and Forests, I.P., and various municipalities.
Sousel was represented by councilor António Dâmaso, who also participated in signing the respective protocol. The event was attended by the Secretary of State for Forests, Rui Ladeira.
This new equipment aims to strengthen the available resources for rural space management, the maintenance of fuel management strips, and the development of rural fire prevention actions. The goal is to contribute to the protection of populations and natural heritage.
The official note emphasizes that cooperation between entities is crucial for enhancing on-the-ground response capacity and promoting a safer and more sustainable territory, summarizing the initiative as "More prevention, more security, and greater protection of our municipality."
