The Monforte Municipal Council symbolically marked, on November 2nd, the completion of the project for the execution of a rainwater drainage collector in the parish of Vaiamonte, awarded to the company Senpapor – Construção e Obras Públicas Lda for the amount of €483,646.83 (plus VAT).

The work, long needed to solve the serious problem of frequent flooding in the locality, involved the installation of a public network of rainwater collection collectors and a drainage system adapted to the pavement's slopes. The project included the execution of a collector, 11 concrete inspection boxes, and drains with branches connected to the main collector.
Additionally, a pedestrian sidewalk was built on the intervened streets to prevent rainwater from entering some homes, whose sill level is lower than the road pavement. This intervention also aims to provide better pedestrian access and circulation.
Accompanying the Mayor, Miguel Rasquinho, were members of his Support Cabinet, Sara Rasquinho, José Silva, and Sérgio Martins, as well as Ricardo Carrilho, from the Municipal Council's Studies and Projects Office and responsible for supervision.
