The initiative was supported by the Portalegre Football Association (A.F.P.), the Municipality of Portalegre, and the Clube Feminino dos Covões. The opening session was attended by Manuel Mata, Councillor for Sport, António Casa Nova, Vice-President of the A.F.P., and Jorge Vicente, representing the F.P.F.
The representatives welcomed the present public and the approximately three hundred young athletes, from 15 clubs in the district and various schools. In total, 28 teams took advantage of the sunny morning at the Municipal Stadium to socialize and practice healthy sports.
