The ULS Alto Alentejo emphasizes the importance of oral health in the elderly, announcing that beneficiaries of the Solidarity Supplement for the Elderly (CSI) aged 66 or over can access free oral health care within the National Health Service.

Within the framework of the Oral Health Program for the Elderly, services include evaluation and diagnosis, oral hygiene and scaling, treatment of simple cavities, necessary extractions, counseling, and referrals.
To access these services, eligible individuals residing in a Residential Structure for the Elderly (ERPI) or attending a Day Center should contact the nursing team of their respective institution. Other eligible individuals should contact their Health Center.
Maintaining good oral health is particularly important throughout aging. Besides contributing to pain and infection prevention, it facilitates eating and speech, and promotes well-being and quality of life.
This initiative is promoted by the Public Health Department of ULS Alto Alentejo, through the Oral Health Program for the Elderly, aiming to facilitate access for the older population to oral health care.
