The initiative, promoted by the European Commission under the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions, was held simultaneously in various European cities. In Portalegre, the event took place between 5:30 PM and 9:30 PM, under the theme “Knowing the Territory, Transforming the Future”. The organization was a joint collaboration between the Polytechnic Universities of Portalegre, Beja, and Setúbal.
The ULS Alto Alentejo was present at the Jardim do Tarro, strengthening its connection with the region's academic and scientific community. ULS's participation in this event is part of a strategy to bring science and health research closer to the general public.
The aim was to foster direct contact between professionals, researchers, and citizens of all ages, in an informal and enriching environment. This edition of NEI involved hundreds of researchers across the country, taking place in various locations throughout Portugal.
