The Intermunicipal Community of Alto Alentejo (CIMAA) met with the Portuguese Society of Authors (SPA) to discuss the organization of cultural events and associated bureaucracy.

The Intermunicipal Community of Alto Alentejo (CIMAA) met last Friday, October 23rd, with representatives from the Portuguese Society of Authors (SPA). The meeting focused on the logistics of organizing small and medium-sized cultural events, as well as the bureaucracy involved in the licensing process common to all associated Municipalities.
The proposal from the Intermunicipal Council suggests positive discrimination by the SPA regarding author rights fees for cultural events in the Interior Municipalities, compared to those in areas with higher population density. The creation of a municipal “support desk” to assist merchants and local associations with the bureaucratic process for licensing applications was also considered.
The request for this meeting originated from the CIMAA and was attended by the President of the Intermunicipal Council, Joaquim Diogo, and the President of the Municipality of Gavião, António Severino, who was designated to follow this topic.
