The Regional Secretary for Health and Civil Protection, Micaela Fonseca de Freitas, accompanied by the President of the SESARAM Board of Directors, Márcia Gomes, conducted a working visit to the SESARAM Clinical Pathology Service, directed by doctor Nuno Canhoto. The laboratory ensures an annual production of 420,000 collections, translating into a total of 6.3 million analytical parameters processed. This volume represents an increase of approximately 10% compared to the previous homologous period, highlighting the service's growing activity.
Holding the international quality certification ACSA (Agencia de Calidad Sanitaria de Andalucía), the Service integrates essential technical capabilities in areas such as Clinical Chemistry, Hematology, Immunology, Clinical Microbiology, and Molecular Biology. To serve the entire hospital network, primary healthcare, and citizens in transit in the Region, it has an emergency laboratory operating on a permanent service basis, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
