The award was presented by the Director of FDUL, Professor Doctor Eduardo Vera-Cruz Pinto, and Professor Doctor Vasco Pereira da Silva, on the final day of the intensive course European and Comparative Competition Law.
Professor Bernd Oppermann played a fundamental role in the development and consolidation of the ELPIS Network (European Legal Practice Integrated Studies), which he chaired from 1999 to 2016, actively promoting cooperation and strengthening academic relations between European Faculties of Law.
He also played a decisive role in the creation of the Joint Master's in European Legal Practice (ELPIS), an initiative that has significantly contributed to the internationalization of legal education and the promotion of student and faculty mobility within the European space.
With this distinction, FDUL recognizes Professor Bernd Oppermann's career and dedication to the ELPIS Network, as well as his invaluable contribution to strengthening academic cooperation and developing partnerships between European universities.
