The IPDJ, in partnership with the CIG, marked Intersex Visibility Day on October 26th by hosting the webinar «Being Young and LGBTI+: To be and not to hide / (re)cognise DSDs, respect diversity».

The session included the participation of young people from associative movements and youth technicians, fostering a space for information, reflection, and dialogue on diversity, rights, and non-discrimination. The webinar was facilitated by technicians from the Commission for Citizenship and Gender Equality (CIG).
Fundamental concepts related to sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression, and sex characteristics (DSDs) were discussed, as well as manifestations of discrimination against LGBTI+ individuals and the relevant legal framework. The initiative underscored the importance of information and awareness for the recognition and respect of human diversity.
This event is part of the actions developed within the framework of the II National Youth Plan and the PAOIEC, aligned with the National Strategy for Equality and Non-Discrimination – Portugal + Igual. The session was recorded and will soon be available on the IPDJ's communication channels.
