The initiative, which took place on October 10th, provided the community with the opportunity to better understand Palliative Care through various stands, games, and interactive dynamics, aiming to increase literacy in this area. The program also included spaces dedicated to reflection on moments of serious illness and activities focused on emotional management, movement, and breathing exercises.
The organization of this fair was supported by the União das Freguesias do Cacém e São Marcos and the collaboration of several partner entities, namely the Intra-Hospital Support Team for Palliative Care (Adults) and Pediatrics of HFF, the São Bento Menni Palliative Care Unit of the Hospitaller Sisters, ARPIAC – Association of Retirees, Pensioners and Elderly of Agualva-Cacém, and the Coral Group of the Association Amigos de São Marcos.
ULS Amadora/Sintra hopes that this initiative has contributed to raising community awareness about the importance of Palliative Care in promoting the quality of life for individuals with serious, incurable, and progressive diseases, as well as their families.
