The appointment took place on October 3rd. The RCRF, founded in 1957, brings together leading specialists in the research of ancient pottery, fundamental elements for understanding ancient societies, economic dynamics, and trade networks.
Over the years, Professor Catarina Viegas has held various positions within the association. Notably, the success of the 30th RCRF Congress, organized by UNIARQ and held at the Faculty of Arts and Humanities of the University of Lisbon in 2016, was an important moment for scientific exchange.
With this appointment, which the Faculty of Arts and Humanities celebrates, Professor Catarina Viegas assumes the highest position in the RCRF, succeeding Tatjana Cvjetićanin. This reinforces the presence of research developed at FLUL and UNIARQ in the international landscape of Archaeology and studies on ancient pottery.
