The project, aligned with the European Union's Mission for Adaptation to Climate Change, brings together experts, policymakers, and communities in the search for nature-based tools and solutions for systemic climate adaptation. AML's experience in this area was shared at the project's general assembly in Tampere, Finland, attended by metropolitan secretary Filipa Guimarães, allowing for the alignment of common challenges and the initiation of the first periodic report.
Within the framework of transnational cooperation, AML and NOVA FCSH organized a practical workshop to support the European Climate Action Labs in creating their climate adaptation roadmaps. The session highlighted the work developed in the Lisbon region, including the Metropolitan Plan for Adaptation to Climate Change and the GreenGov project, with the dissemination of the Guide to Climate Adaptation Financing Instruments.
The exchange of experiences included the analysis of large-scale nature-based solutions implemented in Tampere, such as in Varsanpuisto and Nallenpuisto parks, which also integrate pedagogical components for biodiversity valorization. Through this participation, AML reaffirms its commitment to leading the debate and implementation of climate resilience strategies.
