Tomorrow marks the start of the Pediatrics Meeting at Hospital Fernando Fonseca (HFF). The event, held in the auditorium of the Hospital Fernando Fonseca, part of ULS Amadora/Sintra, is themed “30 Years Growing with Science and Humanity” and will bring together professionals from various healthcare fields for two days of scientific updates, reflection, and experience sharing.
Organized by ULS Amadora/Sintra, the meeting will debate the main challenges in providing healthcare to children and adolescents. Topics will include the challenges posed by the migrant population and the transition of pediatric care from hospital to other intervention areas, with a focus on collaboration between different professionals and care responses to ensure continuity of care.
Technological innovation will be another focus of the program, with robotic surgery and artificial intelligence integrated into the discussion about the future of Pediatrics and various health intervention areas. The humanization of care will also be addressed, reflecting on the importance of providing excellent pediatric care based on the best scientific evidence, without neglecting the human dimension and the needs of children, young people, and their families.
In addition to scientific sessions, the meeting includes workshops in different areas and spaces of the HFF, allowing for a practical and diverse approach to the topics. The program also features a tribute to the 30th anniversary of the HFF's Pediatrics Service, recognizing the journey of a team that, over three decades, has contributed to innovation, differentiation, and quality of care for children and adolescents in the area served by ULS Amadora/Sintra.
