Under the theme “Rethinking the Organization of Our Carnival,” the talk will take place at the José Soares Municipal Library Auditorium, starting at 2:30 PM. The event seeks to open a space for reflection and sharing on the evolution of Nazaré's Carnival, its importance as an expression of local identity and traditions, and the challenges facing its future organization.
The initiative will feature participation from Estarreja, allowing for the exchange of experiences between communities with strong carnival traditions. The goal is to contribute to a broad debate on organizational models, sustainability, and the valorization of this cultural manifestation.
The program begins at 2:30 PM with participant reception and official opening. At 3:00 PM, the first panel will take place, focusing on “Nazaré's Carnival: Tradition, Identity, and Future Challenges.” This will be followed at 4:00 PM by the second panel, “Rethinking the Organization of Our Carnival,” addressing topics such as cooperation between groups, financial sustainability, community involvement, participation of new generations, innovation, and issues related to security and logistics.
After a coffee break scheduled for 5:15 PM, the program continues at 5:35 PM with a Round Table/Open Debate, titled “Ideas for Nazaré's Carnival of the Future.” This session aims to encourage participation and the sharing of ideas on new ways to value, organize, and preserve one of Nazaré's most significant cultural manifestations, while promoting dialogue among stakeholders involved in Carnival.
The session concludes at 6:30 PM with the closing remarks. The initiative represents an opportunity for collective reflection on the present and future of Nazaré's Carnival, seeking to identify solutions that contribute to greater participation, sustainability, and organizational capacity, while preserving the authenticity of local carnival traditions.
