The Municipality of Marinha Grande marked World Food Day on October 16th by distributing fruit to municipal workers and students, promoting the importance of healthy eating.

The initiative, which took place today, aims at food education and encouraging healthier habits, highlighting the impact of dietary choices on health and well-being. As a symbolic gesture, fruit was provided to municipal workers at the entrances of the Town Hall and Municipal Archive, encouraging them to choose natural, nutrient-rich options.
The action seeks to demonstrate that small daily choices can contribute to a better quality of life in the long term. The fruit provided to workers was supplied by the Municipality itself.
As part of the commemorations, the Councilor for Education, Carla Santana, visited the Nery Capucho Basic School at the invitation of the educational institution to learn about the activities prepared for the occasion. The school received fruit, supplied by the Municipality, to distribute among students and teaching and non-teaching staff in various common areas.
