The Municipality of Marinha Grande is joining the 13th edition of the solidarity campaign “É Tempo de Ajudar”, promoted by the Associação de Solidariedade Social Coração Delta, which will take place on October 24th and 25th.

The initiative aims to collect personal hygiene products for elderly individuals in situations of social vulnerability. The campaign will be held at the Intermarché stores in Marinha Grande and Vieira de Leiria, seeking to improve the well-being, comfort, and quality of life of seniors. Donated items can include shower gel, shampoo, toothpaste and toothbrush, deodorant, and moisturizing cream.
The campaign involves Intermarché stores, the National Scout Corps (Corpo Nacional de Escutas), and participating municipalities. Scouts will support the local collection efforts, fostering community involvement and solidarity. The public is invited to contribute to a cause that addresses the basic needs of the senior population.
Established in 2015, the “É Tempo de Ajudar” campaign has already distributed over 26,000 hygiene kits to vulnerable elderly individuals. In 2026, the initiative extends to 130 Intermarché stores across 94 municipalities in nine districts, mobilizing approximately three thousand volunteers.
