The Municipality of Trancoso held, between October 30 and November 1, 2026, the XIII edition of the Chestnut and Autumn Flavors Fair, at the Multipurpose Pavilion, consolidating the event as a benchmark initiative for promoting local products and traditions.

Over three days, the event brought together around 90 producers and exhibitors, providing a privileged space for the promotion of local and regional products, the valorization of economic activity, and the dissemination of the territory's cultural and gastronomic heritage.
This year's edition featured the Municipality of Sabugal as a guest, strengthening institutional ties and cooperation. Its presence allowed for the promotion of that municipality's resources, products, and heritage, with a particular focus on chestnuts and the Martim Rei Agricultural Colony.
The program included initiatives focused on valuing the Martaínha chestnut and its producers, such as the I Meeting of Martaínha Chestnut Producers and contests for the Best Chestnut and Chestnut Confectionery. Showcooking demonstrations with guest chefs and the presentation of the book «À Mesa com a Castanha de Trancoso» enriched the gastronomic component.
The technical and scientific dimension was addressed through the conference «The Importance of Monofloral Honeys» and a mycological walk, dedicated to reflection on the chestnut sector and the valorization of natural resources.
The cultural and recreational aspect featured itinerant entertainment, traditional singing, intergenerational activities, magustos (chestnut roasting gatherings), singing groups, folklore, and ethnography. Comedy shows, Portuguese revue theater, and musical concerts attracted diverse audiences.
The participation of private social solidarity institutions, associations, and cultural groups reinforced the community and intergenerational dimension of the initiative, promoting meeting, conviviality, and sharing.
The XIII Chestnut and Autumn Flavors Fair affirmed Trancoso as a benchmark territory for chestnut production, the valorization of local products, and the preservation of traditions, contributing to the economic, cultural, and tourist development of the municipality.
The Municipality of Trancoso expressed its gratitude to all producers, exhibitors, partner entities, associations, participants, and visitors for the organization and realization of another edition.
