The Municipality of Gouveia and the National Republican Guard (GNR) signed a cooperation protocol this morning to reinforce security and support for the elderly and vulnerable.

The ceremony took place in the Noble Hall of the Paços do Concelho and formalized the partnership under the E-Guard Project – Teleassistance and Monitoring System. This initiative aims to help elderly citizens and those in situations of greater vulnerability remain in their homes with greater autonomy, peace of mind, and safety.
The E-Guard system establishes a direct communication channel with the GNR, complementing the community outreach work already carried out by the Municipality and the security force, particularly within the framework of the Apoio 65 – Idoso em Segurança Program.
Through this collaboration, the capacity for monitoring and response in emergency situations or when support is needed, both at home and outside, is strengthened, contributing to the well-being and quality of life of the citizens of Gouveia.
