Under the motto “Roll up your sleeves for your health,” the campaign aims to raise awareness and encourage, especially the most vulnerable groups of the population, to get vaccinated. The goal is to strengthen protection and defenses against these infections, thereby reducing the risk of severe illness, hospitalization, and death.
Eligible groups for the flu vaccine include children aged 6 months to 4 years, individuals aged 60 or over, and individuals aged 85 or over, all to be vaccinated at the Local Health Unit. People aged 60 or over can also go to Pharmacies.
For the COVID-19 vaccine, seniors aged 70 to 84 are eligible and can be vaccinated at the Local Health Unit or Pharmacies. Individuals between 60 and 69 years of age may request vaccination after a cost-benefit assessment, also at the Local Health Unit or Pharmacy.
There are other specific situations with the right to free vaccination, such as individuals with certain diseases outside these age groups. It is recommended to inquire with your Family Team.
