The initiative, which was successfully implemented in Vila Nova de Gaia, now begins with its first group of residents this month of October. The CEVS is a partnership between ULSGE, the Espinho Municipal Council, and the Association for the Development of the Municipality of Espinho (ADCE), whose facilities will host the sessions.
Aimed at adults with risk factors such as hypertension, diabetes, high cholesterol, elevated abdominal circumference, and smoking, the clinic focuses on primary and secondary prevention, health promotion, and increasing user autonomy.
The program includes clinical consultations, supervised physical activity, and healthy cooking workshops, aiming to empower participants to adopt sustainable lifestyle habits and combat physical inactivity, overweight, and social isolation.
The CEVS represents a commitment to proximity and organizational innovation in healthcare delivery, focusing on preventive value and person-centered care. Interested residents can be referred by their Family Doctor or apply directly via email cevsespinho@ulsge.min-saude.pt or phone 924 725 728.
