The Serra da Estrela DOP Lamb Festival kicked off this Saturday, October 24th, in the parish of Carrapichana, municipality of Celorico da Beira, an event celebrating gastronomy and traditions linked to sheep farming in the region.

The festival, running until Sunday, October 25th, places special focus on lamb and pays tribute to the Bordaleira Serra da Estrela sheep, a symbol of the identity of the mountain communities.
Organized by the Municipality of Celorico da Beira, in partnership with the Junta de Freguesia of Carrapichana, Estrelacoop, and Ancose, the event is establishing itself as a key autumn event in the region.
Over two days, visitors can enjoy a diverse program featuring gastronomy, music, sports, crafts, and tastings of wines and local products.
