The Pink October initiative, organized by the Municipality of Aguiar da Beira in collaboration with the Portuguese League Against Cancer, gathered approximately 250 participants last Sunday, October 11th, for a morning dedicated to solidarity and awareness about breast cancer prevention.

The walk saw significant participation from the local community, who joined this cause of great social relevance. The event aimed to raise public awareness about the importance of preventing and combating breast cancer, while also fostering moments of conviviality and good spirits.
This initiative also marked the closing of the 2026 edition of the «Caminhadas na Natureza» (Nature Walks) program. Throughout recent months, this program organized 13 walks across 10 parishes and parish unions within the municipality, attracting a total of over three thousand participations.
The Municipality of Aguiar da Beira expressed its gratitude to all participants, the organizing team, and involved entities for the success of the walk. The event successfully combined the promotion of healthy lifestyles with raising awareness for a cause of significant social importance.
