The medicinal plants of the Algarve region were the main focus of the Nature Walk event, which took place last Sunday, September 27th. The initiative marked World Tourism Day and resumed the 2026 cycle, this year dedicated to observing nature inspired by Leonardo da Vinci.
Under the guidance of João Beles, a naturopath and professor specializing in medicinal plants, participants had the opportunity to learn about the botanical diversity of the Algarve hills. Beles expressed surprise at the abundance of certain species with recognized health benefits.
The Nature Walk Cycle, promoted by the municipality and held on the last Sunday of each month, aims to provide new perspectives on the territory. Each edition features guidance from experts in different fields, aligned with the proposed theme.
