The Faro District Archive presents an exhibition featuring a copy of a document addressed to António de Oliveira Salazar, reflecting the concerns of the population of Goldra, parish of Santa Bárbara de Nexe, municipality of Faro, regarding the need for a road construction in the area.
This document, part of file no. 5896 titled “Terraplanagens, construção de um aqueduto e execução do pavimento em macadame na estrada da Goldra” (Earthworks, construction of an aqueduct and execution of macadam pavement on the Goldra road), includes various correspondence and the construction project. The intervention was carried out between 1934 and 1935 by the Junta Autónoma das Estradas (Autonomous Roads Board), through the Repartição dos Melhoramentos Rurais (Rural Improvements Department).
