The Municipality of Faro, in partnership with the Salvador Association, conducted an awareness event on accessibility and inclusion at Tomás Cabreira Secondary School on October 28th.

The initiative, part of the Acessibilidades 2.0 em Faro project, involved three classes and provided students with a practical experience to reflect on accessibility challenges, the elimination of architectural and attitudinal barriers, and the importance of building a more inclusive city.
Integrated into the Portugal Inovação Social program, the activity aimed to raise awareness among young people on these issues, equipping them with tools and knowledge for their personal and professional journeys.
Participants had the opportunity to learn about and try out technological resources developed within the project, such as the virtual assistant and the accessibility mapping application, which help identify access conditions and improve the use of public spaces.
A concrete outcome was the mapping of Tomás Cabreira Secondary School on the Map4Accessibility platform, a tool that identifies and publicizes the accessibility conditions of spaces.
Through this action, the Municipality of Faro and the Salvador Association reinforce their joint efforts in promoting accessibility, autonomy, and quality of life, involving new generations in building a more conscious and barrier-free society.
