The Salt Nucleus (Núcleo do Sal), in Figueira da Foz, hosted around a hundred participants on the night of October 31st for the initiative 'Há Qualquer Coisa no Sal', a cultural experience that combined heritage, traditions, and staging.

Under the suggestive title 'Há Qualquer Coisa no Sal' (There's Something in the Salt), the initiative invited the public to discover the salt marsh from a different perspective, through a nocturnal route where mystery, theatricalization, collective memory, and local traditions converged. Between 6:00 PM and 8:00 PM, the space transformed into a setting of sounds, lights, shadows, and unexpected characters, providing an immersive experience that surprised participants and revealed a new way to understand and interpret the salt heritage.
The adventure began with participants writing their fears on small pieces of paper, followed by an encounter with the enigmatic figure of the 'Lady of the Salt'. In the dim light of a lantern, the group advanced through the salt marsh, enveloped in a mysterious atmosphere. Along the route, staging moments brought to life characters and practices deeply linked to the territory's history, such as salt workers laboring in the salt pans at night and salt gatherers singing traditional songs.
Notable moments included the appearance of an archaeologist who emerged from the waters and the listening of 'Witch Stories' around a bonfire. The ritual of casting fears into the fire symbolized liberation, followed by a surprise at the Salt Warehouse: photographing souls.
The salt marsh landscape itself was a major protagonist, with its unique beauty shrouded in darkness and illuminated by moonlight, enhanced by soundscapes and light effects. The initiative, conceived by the teams of the Municipal Museum, Salt Nucleus, Sea Nucleus, Image Barracks, and Municipal Library, featured the participation of the Rancho Folclórico As Salineiras de Lavos and storyteller Maria José Carvalho. The event's success highlighted the Salt Nucleus's potential for new forms of cultural creation.
