The meeting, attended by Rui Cristina, president of the Albufeira Municipal Council, highlighted the importance of addressing housing, infrastructure, mobility, and planning with a people-centered approach prepared for the future.
Rui Cristina stressed the significance of determined action and consistent work to meet the population's needs. "An achievement is not valued by the day it's inaugurated, but by how it improves the community's life over the years," he stated, reflecting on the responsibility of public office.
“"I often say that we engineers have a small flaw: when a problem arises, we immediately start looking for the solution."
During the event, a collaboration protocol was signed between the Municipality of Albufeira and the Order of Engineers – Southern Region. This agreement includes technical support for the council, training for municipal engineers, and community awareness initiatives.
The annual Algarve Engineer District Meeting combines technical, cultural, and institutional activities, fostering connections among professionals from various engineering fields. The Faro District Delegation has approximately 1,700 registered engineers.
