The Children's and Leisure Park in Santo António dos Olivais was inaugurated on October 22nd, representing an investment of €152,518.36.

The Children's and Leisure Park in Santo António dos Olivais opened its doors to the public on October 22nd. The project, part of the Interadministrative Contract for Delegation of Competences between the Coimbra Municipal Council and the Parish Council of Santo António dos Olivais, cost €152,518.36 (including VAT), coming in almost €20,000.00 under the projected budget.
Located between Flávio Rodrigues Street and Capitão Luís Gonzaga Street, the park is intended for the enjoyment of children and adults, serving a large population from the areas of São Sebastião, Santo António dos Olivais, Celas, and Montes Claros.
An innovation of this collective facility is the inclusion of an augmentative communication board, designed for individuals with speech difficulties, resulting from the collaboration between the Parish Council of Santo António dos Olivais and the Association for Cerebral Palsy of Coimbra (APCC).
Several dignitaries attended the inauguration ceremony, including the Mayor of Coimbra, Ana Abrunhosa, Councilors Ricardo Lino and José Manuel Silva, the President of the Parish Council, Francisco Rodeiro, and other council members, as well as the President of the Parish Assembly, Jaime Silva, and the President of the APCC Directorate, Carlos Condesso.
The event was attended by over 100 children from EB dos Olivais and the Creche Mondego – Associação de Intervenção Social, who brought joy and enthusiasm to the inauguration.
