The initiative, promoted by the Association of Hunters and Fishermen of the Municipality of Góis, took place on October 17th and 18th, after being postponed due to Storm Kristin. The event included a guided tour of the Passadiços do Cerro da Candosa, the "Ciclo da Truta de Góis" – Parque da Monteira, and the Historic Centre of the town, followed by a social dinner. The second day focused on boar and deer hunting, facilitating the exchange of experiences among women involved in hunting.
The activity is part of the importance of managing wild species populations, such as wild boar and deer, to mitigate damage to crops and properties and reduce road accidents. Hunting, when conducted according to legal and sustainable norms, contributes to population control.
The Women's Hunt also plays a role in promoting gender equality, challenging stereotypes in a traditionally male-dominated sector and fostering female empowerment and equal opportunities.
The organisation was supported by the Municipality of Góis, HIKMICRO, and Loja Amster. Collaborators included the Parish Councils of Góis, Alvares, and Vila Nova do Ceira, the Comissão de Melhoramentos de Cortes, the Grupo de Cantares das Cortes, the Clube Rota da Jerupiga, and the Clube de Caçadores de Castanheira de Pera.
