The meeting promoted reflection on the potential of Artificial Intelligence (AI), pedagogical innovation, ethics, algorithms, and the development of critical thinking, debating the challenges this technology poses to the management and continuous improvement of Education and Training institutions.
In the opening session, the Board Member of the IPQ, Maria João Graça, highlighted the role of the Sectoral Commission for Education and Training (CS/11) in promoting Quality in the educational sector. She emphasized that AI can contribute to personalizing training paths and optimizing processes, but warned about the need for responsibility, transparency, and critical reflection regarding risks such as the reproduction of biases and the dehumanization of the educational process.
“"AI is not an end in itself, but a means to serve learning, continuous improvement, innovation, inclusion, and educational democracy"
Maria João Graça also stressed the importance of developing good practices and indicators to support the responsible adoption of these technologies. Established in 1996, CS/11 promotes Quality management in Education and Training, contributing to the improvement of evaluation systems.
The congress continued this mission, providing a space for knowledge sharing among professionals, teachers, researchers, and other stakeholders involved in Education, Training, and Quality management.
