The Municipal Services of Urban Transport of Coimbra (SMTUC) have informed that next Wednesday, September 30th, starting at 12:00 PM, lines 5, 5T, 6, 6F, 24T, 27F, 28, 36, and 36T will operate on an alternative route. This change is due to the interruption of circulation on Rua da Sofia, caused by the “Sarau Académico” event.
With the closure of Rua da Sofia, public transport will circulate via Avenida Dom Sesnando Davides. For safety reasons, between the Maintenance area and Avenida Fernão de Magalhães, there will be no stops for passengers to board or alight. All affected lines will continue to serve the area of the Palácio da Justiça, specifically Rua João Machado.
The stop 1465 (Rua da Sofia – Câmara Municipal) will be deactivated. A provisional stop will be installed on Avenida Fernão de Magalhães, next to the D. Dinis Shopping Centre.
SMTUC recommends using their mobile application to follow these and other service changes.
