Artist Sara Ataíde inaugurated the painting exhibition «A Linha Vã» on Saturday at the Sala Zé Penicheiro of the Figueira da Foz Arts and Entertainment Center, a work with a strong personal and family dimension.

The exhibition, which blends artistic expression with a profound personal and family dimension, showcases a creative universe built from four series — «A Linha Vã», «Pousio», «Sinhos», and «Flos» — all united by a journey of discovery, introspection, memory, and affection.
The artist explained that «A Linha Vã» represents a line of escape from the automatism of daily life, «Pousio» a time of pause, «Sinhos» is dedicated to her mother, Sílvia Ataíde, and evokes the transition from childhood to experience, using plush toys as symbols of affection, conflict, desires, and resistance. «Flos», dedicated to her children, represents delicacy and strength.
The choice of Figueira da Foz as the venue for this work holds special significance, also serving as a tribute to her father, João Ataíde, a former Judge, Deputy National Director of the Judicial Police, Mayor of Figueira da Foz, and Member of Parliament, who passed away in 2000.
“

"She made a point of thanking the municipality of Figueira da Foz, represented by the Mayor, Pedro Santana Lopes, and the CAE technicians, for the opportunity to host and give visibility to the work of artists who, despite not yet having the public recognition they deserve, possess unique creative universes and much to share."

The Mayor, accompanied by the Councilor for Culture, Cláudia Rocha, expressed his appreciation for the presented work, considering it an honor to host this exhibition in Figueira da Foz and congratulating the artist.
Sara Ataíde shared the idea that each artwork is available for individuals to take a piece of themselves with them, as art is also about recognizing oneself in the gaze of others, finding emotions where least expected, and discovering a fragment of our own story in every line.
The exhibition will be on display until December 6th, with free admission.
