The Orquestra Sem Fronteiras is returning to Arganil with “O Tempo dos Rios”, a multidisciplinary concert that blends music, cinema, and literature, using rivers as its poetic, ecological, and sensory theme.
The event will take place at the Cerâmica Arganilense on October 3rd, at 9:30 PM, coinciding with World Music Day. Admission is free and supported by the Municipality of Arganil and DGArtes.
“O Tempo dos Rios” is based on the original work of Tiago Sousa, a composer and multi-instrumentalist known for his minimalist and organic aesthetic, who has explored the universe of water, as exemplified by his album Ripples on the Surface. His compositions will be recreated and expanded in co-creation with the Orquestra Sem Fronteiras, involving the composer and the performers on stage.
The music will be accompanied by the projection of an original silent film by Joana Patrão, specifically conceived for the performance and dedicated to the theme of rivers. The final montage follows the musical arc, creating an experience where image and sound complement each other.
The literary dimension will be present through readings, both recorded and live, of original texts by writer Joana Bértholo. The readings will be performed by the musicians themselves on stage, integrating the spoken word into the sonic and visual fabric of the show.
Through music, image, and word, “O Tempo dos Rios” offers an immersive experience that invites the audience to listen to and contemplate rivers as natural elements and as sources of poetic and artistic inspiration.
