The meeting, promoted by the Mission Structure Portugal Social Innovation, took place simultaneously with the first in-person session of the NORDESTE_in Training Program, which supports 30 teams selected from 48 applications.
CIM-TTM considers support for social innovation essential for valuing people, retaining talent, and transforming ideas into concrete responses to the region's social challenges. By associating with NORDESTE_in, the entity aims to provide entrepreneurs and organizations with access to the knowledge, resources, and partnerships needed to develop sustainable projects with community impact.
The NORDESTE_in project, promoted by DESTEQUE in partnership with CORANE and Associação Douro Superior, covers 13 municipalities, including the nine from Terras de Trás-os-Montes and four from CIM Douro. It seeks to address challenges such as combating social isolation, creating employment opportunities, and improving social responses, by mobilizing regional resources.
The program combines training, mentoring, and technical support to assist teams in developing and testing their ideas, identifying partners, and structuring viable solutions, ensuring project continuity and strengthening the capacity to respond to population needs.
Cooperation between local development associations, municipalities, social institutions, educational entities, and entrepreneurs is central to NORDESTE_in. The meeting of the Northern Region's incubators also served as a platform for sharing experiences and fostering closer ties between entities in the sector.
NORDESTE_in is supported by Portugal Inovação Social 2030, under the measure «Centros para o Empreendedorismo de Impacto», with funding from NORTE 2030 and the Intermunicipal Communities of Terras de Trás-os-Montes and Douro.
