Effisus, a company specializing in waterproofing solutions for building envelopes and facade membranes, has been expanding its international reach. Its technologies, designed and tested in Vila Nova de Famalicão, are already present in over a thousand buildings across 25 countries.
World-renowned structures, such as the Museum of the Future in Dubai, Lebanon's tallest towers, and constructions in the United Kingdom, Spain, and Saudi Arabia, benefit from Famalicão's engineering and innovation. Effisus was recently highlighted during a visit by the Mayor, Mário Passos, as part of the "Famalicão Created IN" tour, which praised continuous investment in research and the resolution of complex engineering challenges.
Founded in 2005 by local entrepreneurs, Effisus has approximately 50 employees globally, with its international success linked to technical expertise. Its efforts in Research and Development were recognized by the National Innovation Agency (ANI) with the R&D Seal, in addition to international awards like "Facade Product of the Year" in the UK.
Mário Passos, Mayor of Vila Nova de Famalicão, emphasized the added value and industrial diversification provided by companies like Effisus. "It is a company that, with great innovation, research, and development, makes a difference and brings added value from Famalicão to the entire world," he stated.
The mayor also highlighted the technological diversity marking the municipality, beyond traditional sectors. "This company finds simple and effective solutions to solve serious problems in civil construction and ensure that great works of art around the world are developed successfully and with economic and environmental sustainability," he added.
Ricardo Teixeira, Chief Operating Officer (COO) of Effisus, explained that maintaining the engineering and creation center in Famalicão is a strategic pillar, coexisting with a global vision. "We were born from the dream of two Famalicenses, but today we see ourselves as a global company. Famalicão is the center of our knowledge and engineering, but our projection was designed from the start to show that it is possible to be great and work in the global 'first league'," he noted.
With a significant expansion hub in Dubai for the Middle East and Asia, Effisus anticipates rapid growth, driving innovation and sustainability in global civil construction.
