The Local Health Unit of Barcelos/Esposende (ULSBE) celebrates its day on November 7th, but the commemorative session will take place on Friday, November 6th, at the Eng.º António Tavares Auditorium, at UPCA, in Barcelos.

The session will feature two tributes: one dedicated to professionals with over 35 years of public service in the institutions that now form the ULSBE, and another to workers who retired or were granted pension since the creation of the Local Health Unit in January 2024. These professional journeys are part of the history of the two institutions now working under the same structure.
The ULSBE Day marks the date of the diploma's publication that created the institution, resulting from the integration of Hospital Santa Maria Maior – Barcelos, E.P.E., and ACES Cávado III – Barcelos/Esposende, effective from January 1, 2024.
The program also includes the presentation of projects developed by ULSBE teams and externally recognized, showcasing the work carried out in different areas of the organization and healthcare.
The session will include speeches from the president of the Municipal Chamber of Barcelos, Mário Constantino Lopes, the councilwoman of the Municipal Chamber of Esposende, Fátima Escrivães, the vice-president of the Northern Regional Coordination and Development Commission (CCDR-N), Jorge Salgueiro Mendes, and the president of the ULSBE Board of Directors, Tiago Gonçalves.
The meeting will be held at the Eng.º António Tavares Auditorium, at the Polytechnic University of Cávado and Ave (UPCA), starting at 2:30 PM. The program also includes a musical moment with the jazz duo Cooltrane.
