The municipality of Braga has awarded 34 of its 38 registered educational establishments the Green Flag Eco-Schools award, recognizing their work in environmental education.

The award ceremony was held at Quinta Pedagógica, attended by Altino Bessa, vice-president of the Municipality of Braga. The initiative served as a platform for sharing best practices among schools, which presented projects such as school gardens, greenhouses, ponds, and waste separation initiatives.
Altino Bessa highlighted the increasing participation in the Eco-Schools program and the involvement of thousands of students and teachers across the 38 schools in the municipality. He emphasized the importance of environmental education within the entire school community and its transmission to families, mentioning participation in municipal events like the Circularity Week and Environment Week.
The event also included educational and didactic activities for children and young people, such as a peddy-paper and activities involving the management of equines, in addition to the flag presentations to the distinguished schools.
The 34 awarded Eco-Schools include institutions such as the Associação Juvenil "A Bogalha", Colégio Alfacoop, Colégio Luso-Internacional de Braga, Escola Secundária Alberto Sampaio, and Escola Secundária Sá de Miranda, among others.
