The Mayor of Esposende Municipal Council, Carlos Silva, met last Monday, November 2nd, with the Presidents of the Parish and Union of Parishes councils, to mark the first year of the current Municipal Executive's mandate.

The meeting allowed for a review of the work carried out, identification of difficulties, and discussion of priorities for the coming years, strengthening cooperation between the Municipality and the parishes. During the meeting, Carlos Silva highlighted the role of local councilors in identifying the needs of the populations and in implementing tailored responses to the reality of each community, reaffirming proximity and coordination with municipal bodies as central elements of municipal action.
The review focused on work carried out in areas such as education, housing, sanitation, and the maintenance and enhancement of the territory. In a context of financial demands, the Municipality has sought to balance immediate needs with the recovery of financial equilibrium, maintaining the reinforcement of cooperation and support for the Parish Councils.
This course of action continues the commitments made by the Executive at the start of the mandate, namely proximity, transparency, rigor, and responsibility in municipal management. Presence in the territory, willingness to listen to councilors, and maintaining a dialogue with the parishes were also reaffirmed as important conditions for governance close to the people.
The meeting also allowed for a look ahead to the coming years of the mandate and reinforced the commitment to joint work between the Municipality and the parishes. The objective is to define priorities, coordinate interventions, and mobilize efforts to respond to the challenges of each community and promote the balanced development of the municipality.
