The project includes the implementation of a Self-Consumption Production Unit (UPAC) with an installed capacity of 218.9 kWp. The infrastructure will consist of 398 bifacial monocrystalline photovoltaic panels, complemented by six inverters and the necessary monitoring and protection systems. The energy produced will be used for the facility's self-consumption, reducing reliance on the grid and energy-related costs.
This intervention aims to improve the energy performance of a municipal facility with significant energy needs, contributing to more efficient public resource management and reducing its environmental footprint. The total investment exceeds two million euros, covering installation, licensing, and certification of the plant.
The refurbishment of the Foz do Cávado Pools previously involved an initial investment of 566 thousand euros, which enhanced the facility's quality, safety, and energy efficiency, including a new roof and structural reinforcement.
The current investment is financed by the NORTE 2030 Programme, through the European Regional Development Fund, with an allocated support of €632,664.00.
