The Municipality of Celorico de Basto has approved a public tender program for simplified affordable rental, making 51 homes available with typologies ranging from T0 to T5.

The Municipality of Celorico de Basto has approved a public tender program for simplified affordable rental, aiming to address the difficulty of accessing housing in the municipality. The offer includes 51 homes, with typologies ranging from T0 to T5, ensuring thermal comfort, energy efficiency, and solutions to reduce usage and maintenance costs.
The Mayor, José Peixoto Lima, highlighted that the program aims to provide properties at prices compatible with household incomes, with rental values lower than those on the market. "Housing cannot be just a promise or an intention. It must translate into concrete responses," stated the mayor, emphasizing that this offer places Celorico de Basto among the municipalities with one of the most significant affordable rental offerings nationally.
The Public Tender Program was approved at an ordinary meeting of the Municipal Assembly on September 30. In the coming days, the tender procedure for families to access the homes will be opened. This initiative, part of the Local Housing Strategy, also aims to regulate the rental market with controlled prices and support the settlement of families and young people in the municipality.
José Peixoto Lima concluded that these 51 opportunities aim to ensure dignified housing, support life projects, provide a higher quality of life, and create conditions for more people to choose Celorico de Basto to live, work, and build their future.
