The Barcelos Municipal Youth Council convened yesterday, October 7th, at the Monte de Nossa Senhora da Franqueira. During the session, the Budget for Youth 2027 was unanimously approved. The review of the 2026 Youth Festival and mobility within the municipality were also key topics.
The budget presentation allowed representatives from youth associations and organizations to discuss priorities and challenges facing the youth of Barcelos. The Youth Councillor, Carlos Eduardo Reis, presented the planned lines of action for 2027, emphasizing the importance of youth and association involvement in shaping municipal youth policies.
During the meeting, the work developed and activities carried out as part of the 2026 Youth Festival were also analyzed. Carlos Eduardo Reis highlighted the need to continue investing in facilities and infrastructure for young people, aiming to improve existing conditions and create opportunities for larger-scale initiatives.
Mobility was another subject addressed. An extraordinary meeting of the Municipal Youth Council dedicated to mobility and the environment has been scheduled for November, to further discuss these matters and gather input from youth representatives.
The meeting took place at the Monte de Nossa Senhora da Franqueira, continuing the initiative to hold Municipal Youth Council sessions in different locations within the municipality, intended to bring young people closer to local heritage and reality.
