The event, which aims to promote Mental Health and combat the stigma associated with mental illness, emerges as an analogy to a community movement to make Mental Health more visible and reinforce values such as dignity, inclusion, human rights, and mutual aid.
The 2026 edition will involve the collaboration of various local entities, including the Escola Profissional de Moura, the Centro de Saúde de Moura, the Universidade Sénior, the Group “Manhãs Saudáveis” of the Junta de Freguesia de Moura, APPACDM, the Desporto Escolar of the Agrupamento de Escolas de Moura, the Agrupamento de Amareleja, Moura Vólei Clube, Futebol Clube de Safara, and Patinagem Moura Desportos Clube.
Participation can take the form of walks or other physical activities, using the official initiative T-shirt, and through the distribution of the SOS Well-being Card, with simple coping and emotional regulation strategies.
Murals titled “Mental Health Has a Voice” will also be promoted, allowing each entity to create its own space for reflection and participation, adapted to its reality. In the council's parishes, the creation of murals in their respective localities is encouraged.
October 9 will be the moment of greatest visibility, marking the proximity of World Mental Health Day, celebrated on October 10. The Outdoor event aims to be a movement of closeness and awareness, reminding us that Mental Health concerns everyone and that no one should feel ashamed to ask for help.
