The initiative, curated by writer Marta Pais Oliveira, aims to consolidate literature as a cultural pillar of the municipality throughout October. The inaugural program featured performances by the Espinho Music Academy, conversations with writer Rui Couceiro, and reflections with Gonçalo M. Tavares on how to "imagine better?”. The Bebéteca, led by Nina Ferreira, provided moments for family reading.
Local poetry was celebrated at the José Marmelo e Silva Municipal Library with a meeting of Popular Poets. The Book Fair will run until October 31st, with a multidisciplinary program that combines literature, music, oral storytelling, and performance in various locations across the municipality.
The event is supported by Turismo de Portugal and partnered with Livraria Bertrand, with all activities offering free admission.
