The Municipal Chamber of Angra do Heroísmo hosted, on October 12, the presentation of the Guide to Good Practices – Social Inclusion Through Art. The initiative, promoted at the Paços do Concelho by Get Art – Regional Association for the Promotion and Cultural Management, aims to support the development of social inclusion projects through artistic practices.
Authored by Daniela Silveira, the publication is aimed at professionals from schools, Private Institutions of Social Solidarity (IPSS), and associations. It gathers principles, reflections, and examples of good practices that can be adapted to different contexts of social and educational intervention.
The guide stems from the experience developed by Get Art within projects that promote cultural participation and inclusion through art, notably the artistic residency program A.T.I.T.U.D.E. #ArtForChange, which was distinguished in 2025 with the Acesso Cultura – Mickaella Dantas Award. This initiative has helped strengthen the participation of people with disabilities and encourage collaborative work between educational, cultural, and social entities.
The publication's edition was supported by the Municipal Chamber of Angra do Heroísmo, recognizing the importance of providing resources that encourage the use of art as an instrument for inclusion, participation, and personal development. The guide offers a support tool for professionals and organizations interested in integrating artistic practices into their social intervention projects.
“"Art has a unique capacity to bring people together, promote participation, and create opportunities for inclusion. This guide is an important tool to support institutions and professionals who work daily to build more inclusive and accessible responses for everyone."
