In the Culture area, the award went to the project “Angra Encanto Sénior – Senior Municipal Choir,” an initiative promoting participation and access to culture for the senior population, encouraging active aging.
In Education, two projects were awarded: “50 Years of Freedom – Autonomy for New Generations,” which marked and valued knowledge about the history and autonomous identity of the Azores among new generations in schools and after-school centers, and the project “Eco Sénior,” dedicated to environmental awareness and promoting sustainable practices among seniors.
These three Gold awards recognize projects that address the population's needs, strengthening the link between culture, education, civic participation, sustainability, and social inclusion.
“The three distinctions represent the recognition of the work developed by the Municipality of Angra do Heroísmo in implementing social, cultural, educational, and environmental intervention projects, valuing initiatives that bring local government closer to the community and promote citizen participation, from our youth to our seniors,” stated the Councillor of the Municipal Chamber of Angra do Heroísmo, Rui Drumonde.
