The event, attended by the president of the Angra do Heroísmo City Council and the municipal executive, marked the conclusion of the Basílio Sousa Veterans Tennis Tournament. The competition took place at the municipal facilities on September 25 and 26.
In addition to the renaming of the venue, the ceremony included the presentation of tournament awards. The municipality also recognized the contribution of João Manuel do Rego Botelho Parreira to tennis on Terceira Island and across the Azores, presenting a commemorative plaque to his family.
