The signing ceremony for the Consignment Deed for the rehabilitation project of the Territorial Post of the Republican National Guard (GNR) of Carregal do Sal took place on the afternoon of September 28. This intervention aims to modernize the facilities and improve the operational conditions of the post.
The event was held in the Salão Nobre Aristides de Sousa Mendes and was attended by various dignitaries, including Colonel Adriano Resende, Commander of the Viseu Territorial Command of the GNR, the President of the Municipal Assembly of Carregal do Sal, presidents of the Humanitarian Associations of Volunteer Firefighters of Cabanas de Viriato and Carregal do Sal, their respective commanders, presidents of the Parish Councils of the municipality, and other invited guests.
The President of the Municipal Chamber of Carregal do Sal, Paulo Catalino Ferraz, highlighted the importance of the work, emphasizing the collaboration between the Municipality and the GNR to incorporate the security force's needs into the project.
The contract, awarded to the company Edibest – Engenharia e Construção, Lda., amounts to 149,687.56 euros, plus VAT. The project includes the rehabilitation and expansion of the building, as well as the remodeling of interior spaces to create more functional environments suitable for the GNR's mission, also improving citizen service.
Colonel Adriano Resende thanked the municipal collaboration and pointed out that the Carregal do Sal Territorial Post will be the only one in its Detachment to integrate photovoltaic panels, representing a commitment to environmental sustainability and energy efficiency.
The investment will be reimbursed under the Law for the Programming of Infrastructure and Equipment for Security Forces and Services (LPIEFSS). The project signifies a further investment by the Municipality in upgrading public infrastructure and ensuring adequate conditions for service operations, contributing to the enhanced quality of the GNR's service to the population of Carregal do Sal.
