The Municipality of Carregal do Sal marked, on October 15th, the completion of the requalification works for the Secondary School and the opening of the Municipal Daycare facilities. These two events signify a significant reinforcement of the municipality's educational and social infrastructure.
The inauguration ceremony for the Secondary School was attended by José Ribau Esteves, President of CCDR Centro, and Joaquim Seixas, Director of the Viseu District Center for Social Security. The intervention at the school, with an investment of approximately 4.4 million euros funded by the PRR, improved thermal and acoustic comfort conditions, energy efficiency, and interior and exterior spaces.
During the ceremony at the Secondary School, four education professionals – three teachers and one operational assistant – were honored in recognition of their dedication and contribution to the educational community over the years.
The program continued with the inauguration of the Municipal Daycare, located in the former primary school building. With an investment of around 500 thousand euros (300 thousand funded by the PRR), the new facility can accommodate up to 75 children and aims to strengthen the early childhood support network in the municipality.
The presence of Joaquim Seixas highlighted the importance of coordination between public entities for the implementation of local social responses. These investments reflect the Municipality's commitment to education, the quality of social services, and the creation of better conditions for the population, placing people at the center of municipal priorities.
