Road renovation works on the former EN226-1 and Rua Central in Cambres, an investment of 596,112 euros, are in their final stages and nearing completion.

The renovation works on the former EN226-1 and Rua Central in Cambres, extending to the EM 535, have entered their final stages, rapidly approaching completion. Aiming to ensure better conditions for road comfort and safety, the work is now in its last interventions, representing a significant investment of 596,112 euros (plus VAT), one of the largest ever in accessibility for this parish.
In this finishing phase, the planned benefits for a total length of over 1800 meters are about to be completed. This included the integral renewal of the bituminous pavement, modernization of rainwater drainage and basic sanitation networks, as well as the introduction of new sidewalks and correction of ditches. The intervention also reordered, in some locations, the space designated for car parking.
The Lamego Municipal Council is successfully carrying out a broad set of renovation interventions on various municipal roads, covering both the urban fabric of the city and rural parishes. This strong commitment to modernizing road infrastructure is a direct response to the population's legitimate aspirations, aiming to raise standards of mobility, well-being, and territorial cohesion.
The renovation of the former EN226-1 and Rua Central in Cambres up to the EM 535 is co-financed by the Regional Operational Programme North 2030.
